The Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF) has directed the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to give its assent to whistleblower Sanjeev Chaturvedi's deputation to the Delhi Government.

In February, Delhi Chief Minister >Arvind Kejriwal had written to Union Minister for Environment Prakash Javadekar seeking Mr. Chaturvedi's deputation. Mr. Kejriwal had said he wanted to make Mr. Chaturvedi his Officer on Special Duty (OSD).

Accessed exclusively by The Hindu , a written communication was despatched on June 8 paving the way for Mr. Chaturvedi's appointment to the Delhi Government as an OSD.

Mr. Chaturvedi was the Aam Aadmi Party-led (AAP) Delhi Government's initial choice to head its anti-graft unit, the Anti Corruption Branch (ACB).

A Delhi Government official welcomed the development, adding that they were hopeful that the Prime Minister's Office 'would not move to stall the procedure of the deputation'.

A source said the Government would touch base with Mr. Chaturvedi later in the day.
