The children's park close to Delhi's India Gate is sporting a fresh look. However, a rapid surge in construction activity across Delhi over the years has resulted in the shrinking of open spaces and a reduction in the number of such parks. Under MCD Delhi master plan for 2021, the DDA has made it compulsory for each school to have a playground. It has also stressed on sharing the common playground between schools. The DDA and MCD will be responsible for development of Special Purpose Parks. These venues are expected to take care of all family functions for citizens.
