The camera captures an uncanny sight of a young boy driving a tricycle beyond his size. The vehicle must obviously belong to an older disabled family member, but the boy is using it to fetch water. The Capital’s slums suffer from water shortage with municipal water being released in the few taps in these areas once or twice a day. This makes it necessary for people to traverse a long distance to fetch water for the family. According to the Delhi Jal Board it provides an average of 50 gallons per capita per day of filtered water through a network of water treatment plants, booster pumping stations and about 9,000 kms of water mains and distribution system.
