A two-storey building collapsed in west Delhi’s Mansarovar Garden on Monday afternoon after a major fire broke out on the premises. No injuries were reported, the police said.

According to the police, the building was being used as a warehouse to store disposable items. The fire started from the ground floor and spread to two more floors. Though the reason of fire is being probed, prima facie, it appears to have been caused due to faulty wires in the air conditioning system, said a police officer.

The police said that the building was evacuated in time and people inside nearby buildings were also asked to evacuate the premises as precaution. According to Delhi Fire Service, 20 fire tenders were rushed to the spot after a call was received at 3:45pm. The fire was doused within 2-3 hours.
