A 50-year-old director with the Central Water Commission has been arrested at Vikaspuri in West Delhi for allegedly raping a 36-year-old woman whom he had hired as a caretaker last year for his elderly mother.

According to the complainant, who is a divorcee and has two daughters, the director had employed her in January last year and a few months later established physical relations with her. He then allegedly raped her on several occasions.

Rented accommodation

While she earlier stayed at his place, the accused official later arranged a rented accommodation for her after his mother raised an objection alleging that she was trying to grab the family property. The complainant alleged that the official raped her at the rented accommodation several times.

Based on the complaint, the police have registered a rape case and arrested the director.
