The Noida Police have nabbed a wanted criminal after a brief encounter in Greater Noida’s Sigma Sector on Tuesday. His accomplice managed to flee.

Joginder Singh alias Joga, a resident of Sultanpuri in Delhi, has a bounty of ₹12,000 on his head and is wanted in at least 80 cases in Delhi-NCR. He suffered a gunshot injury in the back during the crossfire and was taken to hospital for treatment. He was arrested following a tip-off about the presence of two criminals in Sector Sigma 2, the police said. “The team spotted them at 1.15 p.m. at Sigma roundabout,” said SP (Rural) Suniti. The duo allegedly opened fire at the police and Joga was hurt in retaliatory firing.
