What factors contri-buted to BJP’s win?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s holistic policies are one of the most significant reasons for this win. Delhi wants the same good governance model that Mr. Modi has put in place across the nation. They have had enough of politics of confrontation and negativity.

The BJP had 10 years of anti-incumbency against it. What do you think helped the party work around it?

The party was able to buck anti-incumbency through the tried and tested Gujarat Model of development. In fact, speaking of anti-incumbency, there is so much of an anti-incumbency sentiment against the AAP after a mere two years at the helm of the Delhi government due to its own lack of policies and failure to deliver on the promises it had made that people forgot divisions of class and caste to vote for us and not them. This is also a referendum on Arvind Kejriwal’s failures.

What about the corruption allegations against the BJP?

The results prove that Delhiites have realised that the MCDs, which received step-motherly treatment from the Congress and whose funds were stalled by the AAP, have done good work despite problems.

Is there a possibility of MCD reunification?

While it would be too early to comment on the matter, I will say that the unification of the corporations is certainly a possibility.
