Two persons have been arrested for allegedly posing as staffers of Udyog Bhawan and duping people on the pretext of getting them government jobs.
Rakesh Kashyap (37) and Salauddin (32) were arrested on August 4 from Udyog Bhawan while interviewing a potential victim, the police said.
The duo has allegedly cheated 16 persons so far. Their accomplices Noor Hasan alias Rajbir and Shan Mohammad alias Sonu are absconding.
Government jobs
The police received a complaint from Sunil Kumar Golti on July 28.
He alleged that his two cousins and he had been cheated by men claiming to be lower division and upper division clerks respectively. They had assured them of government jobs for ₹4 lakh each, DCP (New Delhi) B.K. Singh said.
The trio first met Rajbir, who introduced them to the others. The victims were called to Udyog Bhawan thrice on the pretext of filling up application forms and interviews.
The accused also showed them their results on a fake Staff Selection Commission (SSC) website. The victims sensed something was amiss when they failed to find their results on the original SSC website and lodged a complaint.
The CISF staff at Udyog Bhawan was apprised of the case and given the photographs of the accused.
