The erring drivers in both cases have been arrested

Two women and eight children were injured in separate accidents in Bawana in Delhi on Saturday. The erring drivers in both cases have been arrested.

The first accident took place around 7-30 p.m. when a school bus carrying students of White Leaf Public School overturned while negotiating a turn on the Main Narela Road.

The passers-by made a call to the Police Control Room and took the injured to Maharishi Balmiki hospital.

Seven children, including two girls, were injured in the accident. All the injured were discharged after first aid, the police said.

The injured students were in the age group of 8-12 years.

“The driver was probably driving at a high speed and this caused the accident. The bus was being operated by the school authorities. Vikas, who was driving the bus, has been arrested for causing injuries due to rash driving,” said a senior police officer.

In another accident, a speeding mini-bus hit a tree on the roadside on the Bawana-Delhi road around 9 a.m. resulting in minor injuries to two women and a six-year-old boy.

“According to the passengers the driver, Prabhas, was driving rashly. He has been arrested,” said a senior police officer.
