Two women arrested for kidnapping 3-year-old boy

December 24, 2013 11:09 am | Updated 11:09 am IST - New Delhi:

Not keeping his promise to marry a woman proved dear for a man as the woman kidnapped his three-year-old son to avenge the alleged betrayal.

According to the police, Kamlesh (22) and her sister-in-law Sunita (25), both residents of Nihal Vihar were arrested and the minor, who is the only child of the complainant Ajay was rescued from them.

The incident came to light on December 16 at around 9.10 p.m. when Ajay filed a missing complaint at Nihal Vihar that his son has been kidnapped by unknown persons when he was playing outside his house here at about 2 p.m.

An FIR was registered and a team was constituted to investigate the matter.

“During investigation, it was learnt that two women, namely Kamlesh and Sunita of the same locality had also been missing from their house after the incident,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Ranvir Singh.

Upon interrogation, Kamlesh told the police that she had gone to Meeruti to take some medicine while her sister-in law had gone to her village at Besora Basti in Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Singh said.

“However, on sustained interrogation, she disclosed that Ajay had given assurance that he will marry her. However, he later refused and gave some excuse. This annoyed her and she decided to take revenge from him. She then conspired with Sunita to kidnap Ajay’s only son,” Mr. Singh said.
