The victims, Naresh and Vijay Pal, work as cash collection agents for a trading company.

They were on their way to deposit the money at a bank in Sarai Rohilla around 12.30 p.m. when the incident took place.

Chilli powder used

Police said that Naresh was parking his motorcycle near the Shastri Nagar metro station, while his colleague Vijay started walking towards the bank with the cash.

“Suddenly, two men approached Vijay from behind and threw chilli powder at his face. Vijay was temporarily blinded, allowing the robbers to snatch the bag and flee,” said an officer.

Naresh, who claims to have chased the robbers as well, said he was also attacked with chilli powder.

However, he said he backed off only after the robbers pointed a pistol at him.
