Continuing with their attack against the Centre and the Delhi Police, Aam Aadmi Party leaders said two more AAP MLAs were likely to be arrested soon.

Party leader Ashutosh on Thursday morning tweeted, “Delhi Police is going to arrest two more AAP MLAs today (Thursday). Sharad Chauhan and Rakhi Bidlan in the line [sic].”

Narela MLA Sharad Chauhan was questioned by the Delhi Police on Wednesday in the connection with the suicide of AAP volunteer Soni.

Senior police officers, however, dismissed rumours about Ms. Bidlan’s arrest.

“We are not arresting her,” an officer said.

No decision yet

As for Mr. Chauhan, an officer associated with the probe said no decision had been taken.

“The investigation into the suicide case is going on. We cannot speculate too much into the future, but for now we have no plans to arrest him,” he said.

Mr. Ashutosh claimed that Mr. Chauhan was grilled for over nine hours. “He (Chauhan) was pressured to take names of any of the senior leaders or else he would suffer,” he said.

Ms. Soni had committed suicide on July 19 alleging harassment by AAP party worker Ramesh Bhardwaj. In her suicide note, she also alleged that Mr. Bhardwaj asked for sexual favours.

Party attacks PM Modi

“Our two MLAs, Naresh Yadav and Amanatullah Khan, were arrested in a day. Police misbehaved with Khan’s family and forcibly picked him up. The same treatment has been meted out to Deputy Speaker Rakhi Bidlan. The kingpin behind the subsequent attacks on our MLAs is Modiji only,” he said.

Death threats

Meanwhile, a day after Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal released an almost 10-minute video on social media, in which he said the Prime Minister Narendra Modi may get him killed, AAP leaders claimed Mr. Kejriwal has got death threats on Twitter.

Mr. Ashutosh said Nikunj Sahu (@NikunjSahu), who counts Mr. Modi as one of his followers, has openly called for the assassination of Mr. Kejriwal via a tweet, which says “ Goli maar deni chahiye teko [sic].”

“It is no surprise that such an open threat has been issued by a supporter of the BJP. What is really shocking is that this person, Nikunj Sahu, is a member of the BJP's IT Cell and is followed by the official handle of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” the AAP leader went on to say.
