The Delhi Police on Monday claimed to have busted a gang allegedly involved in over six incidents of mobile phone snatching in the Capital.

Two of the gang members have been arrested and three mobile phones recovered, the police added.

The accused, 24-year-old Manoj and 23-year-old Rajneet Singh, were arrested from Nihal Vihar after the police laid a trap. They also seized a motorcycle used by the accused.

“They confessed to involvement in over six incidents of mobile phone snatching in the past three months,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Rajesh Deo.

“The accused formed a gang and started snatching mobile phone to make easy money,” added Mr. Deo.

The police are on the lookout for their accomplice Suraj, who is allegedly on the run.

The police said a team has been constituted to check incidents of snatching and robbery in the National Capital Region. The team analysed the movements of the snatchers and laid a trap to nab them.
