The accused hatched a plan to rob the house in Uttam Nagar in West Delhi where she was employed
Two young men, including a Delhi University student, have been arrested for allegedly murdering a baby-sitter at a house in Uttar Nagar, West Delhi, on Thursday evening.
According to the police, the accused had hatched a plan to rob the house where the woman was employed after they came to know that she used to be alone once her employers would leave.
The accused have been identified as Agam Kohli, a student of Bachelor of Arts from DU, and Gagandeep, a school drop-out.
“During interrogation, Agam revealed that he earlier worked in a placement agency on the first floor of the same building in Rama Park in which the crime took place,” said DCP West Ranveer Singh.
“Agam and his friend Gagandeep came to know that the fourth floor of B-21, Rama Park, the house where the incident took place, was occupied by a nuclear family where the couple was working and their child was being looked after by a baby-sitter during the day,” he added.
Smelling an opportunity, they planned to conduct a robbery in the house, said Mr. Singh.
The accused used a BSES electricity disconnection notice as an excuse to gain entry into the premises, he added.
According to the police, the duo killed Inderjeet Singh (45) fearing that she would identify them.
They also injured the two-year-old child the babysitter used to look after before fleeing.
The police have also made some recoveries from the accused.
