Two killed in accident

Two youths were killed and as many injured when the car they were travelling in overturned in North Delhi’s Kotwali area on Saturday evening.

Hemant Rathi and Aman Punia were returning to their house in Yamuna Vihar along with their friends Himanshu and Anmol when the car they were travelling in overturned due to high speed near Geeta Colony flyover late last night, said a senior police officer.

All the youths, in their early twenties, lived in Yamuna Vihar. While Hemant died on the spot, Aman succumbed at the hospital.

Anmol and Himanshu were injured and admitted to LNJP hospital by the cops and are currently recuperating.

Anmol, who was driving the car, has been booked for rash and negligent driving.

Two injured

In another accident last night, two youths were injured when their bike was hit by a car near Shahid Park in Central Delhi.

Zubair and Sarfaraj, both residents of Daryaganj, were returning after filling petrol in their bike when it was hit by the car, police said.
