Two IMA members join Max investigation

Two doctors from the Indian Medical Association (IMA) have been included as external experts in the group set up by Max Healthcare to probe a recent case in which a premature baby was wrongfully declared dead at its Shalimar Bagh hospital.

Ethics committee chairman Arun Agarwal and joint secretary Ramesh Datta have been roped in as external experts. According to a release issued by the hospital, the probe is expected to conclude by Monday and the findings will be shared thereafter.

“The expert group set up by Max Healthcare to investigate the circumstances and protocols followed regarding the premature delivery [23 weeks/5 months] of twins and subsequent declaration of death at Max Hospital, Shalimar Bagh, is working swiftly towards concluding their detailed investigations in this matter,” the release noted.
