Two young men allegedly involved in heroin smuggling have been arrested at Hauz Qazi in Central Delhi. The police claim to have seized over 1 kg of heroin from them.
Acting on a tip-off that two persons carrying a consignment of heroin would come near Chawri Bazar metro station this past Saturday, the police laid a trap and arrested them. They were identified as Rahul and Lucky.
During interrogation, the accused disclosed that three months ago they came in contact with a drug supplier, Symond, who supplied them the consignment at a Paharganj guest house. Symond, who operates either from Ghaziabad or Meerut, used to contact them through a public telephone booth and meet them at different places in the Capital.
According to the police, Rahul hails from Siliguri in West Bengal. He had earlier worked as a service attendant in different hotels and guesthouses in Karol Bagh and Paharganj.
Lucky was a resident of Amritsar in Punjab and works as a driver.
