Two children killed in wall collapse in West Delhi

Two children were killed and a third was injured today when the wall of an under- construction building collapsed in west Delhi, police said.

The incident was reported from New Krishna Park in Vikaspuri at around 11:20 am. The injured were rushed to Deen Dayal Upadhyay hospital where two children were declared brought dead.

Meena (6), Gyan (6) and Chandni (2) were playing near the construction site when the wall collapsed on them, a senior police official said.

They were rushed to DDU hospital where Meena and Gyan were declared dead while Chandni is undergoing treatment.

“There was some digging work going on for a basement and a 10 feet wall close to this place fell down over the kids who were playing close to it at the time of incident,” the official said.

In another incident, a wall collapsed in Khajuri Khas area this afternoon. There were no reports of any casualty.
