February 12, 2013 09:45 am | Updated 09:45 am IST - NEW DELHI:

At least two cases of rape have been reported in different parts of the Capital during the past 24 hours.

A young woman alleged that she was gang-raped by some persons in Mianwali Nagar in the early hours of Monday. The woman, who was found in an inebriated state, told the police that she was on her way back from a friend’s place when she was kidnapped and raped. Based on her complaint, a case was registered.

However, it is learnt that she refused to pursue the matter when she sobered up, stating whatever she said was under the influence of alcohol. Preliminary police investigations have revealed that she is allegedly involved in some criminal cases, as is her husband.

In another case, a woman living separately from her husband has accused one Naresh of having raped her on several occasions in the past two months. The accused had helped the victim get an accommodation in Burari after she separated from her husband. The police have launched a hunt for the accused.
