A 35-year-old man was injured after he rammed his container truck into a Metro pillar near the Govindpuri station on Saturday. Manoj Yadav was rushed to a nearby hospital where he is undergoing treatment.

Mr. Yadav was transporting scrap from Okhla to Sonipat.

“He dozed off while driving and lost control of the vehicle after which he hit the Metro pillar,” said a senior police officer. No one else was hurt in the incident.

“We have registered a case against him under sections 279 (rash driving) and 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life) of the Indian Penal Code.

Meanwhile, Mr. Yadav has suffered a head injury and has been admitted to the AIIMS Trauma Centre,” said the officer.
