Traffic foils man’s bid to rob car

A 25-year-old man allegedly tried to rob an Army officer’s luxury car after throwing chilli powder in his eyes at Delhi Cantonment. However, heavy traffic forced him to abandon the car and flee, the police said.

Lt.-Col. Pinaki Bani had posted an online ad to sell his hatchback. Gujrat resident Ram Lal posed as a customer on Wednesday and told him that he could help sell the luxury car too.

When the officer refused, Mr. Lal insisted on taking the car for a drive and drove off with it.
