A 37-year-old businessman was allegedly shot at by unidentified men in Rohini’s Begumpur after he resisted their attempt to snatch his bag containing ₹10,000, the police said.

Baldev was returning home after closing his shop on Sunday when someone called out his name, the police added.

Resists snatching bid

As soon as he turned, two people tried to snatch his bag containing ₹10,000, a cell phone and some bank documents, the police said.

Mr. Baldev did not let go of the bag even after the accused started thrashing him. One of the accused shot at him, leaving him injured, the police added.

The victim managed to write down the number of the motorcycle used by the accused, the police said, adding that efforts were on to nab the accused based on that information.
