In a shocking case, a three-year-old girl was gang-raped and murdered by three persons in Kirti Nagar here earlier this month. All the three have been arrested.
The accused have been identified as Jawahar (30), Birbal (26) and Rajkumar (24). All the three are daily-wagers originally belonging to Bihar.
Jawahar allegedly lured the girl to an under-construction building on some pretext on January 5 and raped her along with his two accomplices. The three then strangled the girl and threw her body in a drain flowing near the house of the victim.
When the body of the girl was found in the drain the next day, it appeared to be an accident to the police and the girl's parents. But the post-mortem report revealed that she was raped and strangled to death.
Investigation revealed that the girl was raped in an under-construction building and more than 200 people were interrogated. The police then zeroed in on the three accused who were found missing.
One of the accused, Jawahar, was arrested in Bihar two days ago. His accomplices, Rajkumar and Birbal, were arrested at Mayapuri later at his instance.
