Three men were arrested on Friday for allegedly trying to resell a snatched mobile phone to the victim, the police said.

Amar, Rohit Sharma and Mukesh Kumar are school dropouts, and took to snatching and robbery to fund their drug habit.

The victim told the police that three men on a white motorcycle had snatched her phone at Tila Abul Fazal Enclave-I while she was travelling in an e-rickshaw on Wednesday.

She received a call on her second phone the next day. The caller told her he would return her snatched phone in exchange for ₹5,000 at Batla House Chowk. She agreed and informed the local police.

“The police caught the criminals red-handed. The mobile phone was also recovered,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (south-east) Chinmoy Biswal. The accused confessed to five other snatching.
