Three held for killing police informer

An alleged auto-thief and two of his accomplices have been arrested in connection with the sensational murder of an informer of the Delhi police in neighbouring Noida this past month.

Acting on a tip-off, a South Delhi police team laid a trap near Shiv Murti on National Highway-8 on November 3 and arrested Bhupinder when he reached there allegedly to sell a stolen Alto car. His accomplice, Sanjay alias Sanju, was later arrested near AIIMS on November 6 at his instance.The two told the police that their gang leader Rahul alias Arun would come to meet his relatives in Safdarjung Enclave on November 9. The police laid a trap on Aruna Asaf Ali Marg and arrested Rahul after a brief encounter.

It was purportedly revealed during interrogation that Rahul came in contact with a notorious auto-thief Dharmender while he was in jail at Meerut. After they were released, the two formed a gang and allegedly took to auto-theft, robbery and contract killing. They used to steal vehicles from Delhi, Chandigarh and Haryana disposed them of in western Uttar Pradesh.

On October 20, Rahul along with Dharmender, Bhupinder and Sanjay came to strike a deal for a stolen Honda City car and allegedly shot Pramod, a Delhi police informer.
