A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 17-year-old in Rohini’s Vijay Vihar on Monday morning. The accused is yet to be arrested.
According to a senior police official, the juvenile lived in the same area.
“He offered to buy her sweets, after which he took her to a deserted place,” said the official.
Victim in shock
Later, the girl came home crying and told her family. The parents then informed the police who couldn’t record the victim’s statement as she was in shock. “Initially, we had no clue about the accused because the girl couldn’t remember details. But, CCTV footage showed the accused taking her along,” the official added.
The juvenile’s family, which was questioned after he was identified, said they hadn’t seen him after the incident.
