: A teenage girl was allegedly gangraped by two men on the premises of Artemis Hospital in Sector 51 here. The suspects have been arrested.

According to the police, the girl was raped after being forcibly taken to a vacant room in the hospital on the afternoon of July 30. The victim and the men work in the housekeeping department of the hospital.

The police were informed the next day, when the girl told her family about the incident.

Statement recorded

“The medical examination of the victim has been done. She has recorded her statement under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code,” said Assistant Commissioner of Police Hawa Singh.

The accused have been identified as Pradeep and Muni Raj, both in their late 20s.

While Pradeep is a resident of Mahendergarh, Muni Raj belongs to West Bengal.

‘Crime happened outside’

The hospital spokesperson said the accused and the victim were outsourced from an agency, and were not part of the organisation. The spokesperson also claimed that the crime happened outside the hospital premises. She refuted allegations that the hospital had refused to approach the police over the incident.

The victim, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, stays with her mother in Gurgaon.

In May, an Iraqi woman had alleged molestation on the premises of a prominent hospital here during treatment. A case was registered against an unidentified person after intervention from the Ministry of External Affairs.
