A 16-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by her 42-year-old father in south-west Delhi’s Palam. The man has been arrested and a probe initiated.
The police said they were informed about the incident by the girl’s mother. The woman had left the house on May 26 after a fight with her husband, who was allegedly in an inebriated condition. She had told her daughter and 7-year-old son to call her in case their father bothered them.
“The woman claimed her husband was an alcoholic and fought with her frequently. She would shift in with her parents after their fights,” said a senior police officer.
On June 4, the man came home drunk and allegedly raped his daughter. The weeping girl called up her mother, who returned immediately and took her to the police station to file a complaint.
“We have registered a case. The accused was arrested from the factory where he works,” said the officer.
