Admissions under the fourth cut-off list in Delhi University on Thursday were marred by glitches in the online portal.

With a minor dip in the cut-offs, aspirants were seen trying to withdraw their initial admissions and shift to other colleges. However, the snag did not allow many students to generate their admission slips.

“I have been waiting since morning for the online portal to start working so that my admission slip can be generated. I even tried logging in from a cyber café, but the server was down,” said Ananya, an aspirant at Daulat Ram College.

Long struggle

Another student, Manpreet Kaur, got her admission slip after many tries.

“As the server was down in the morning, the admission slip was not being generated. However, I managed to get it later on,” said Ms. Kaur, who took admission in Khalsa College.

The university declared its fourth cut-off list on Wednesday evening, with most colleges closing admissions for a majority of their courses. While Hindu College has closed admissions to 15 out of its 17 programmes, Motilal Nehru College (Evening) has closed intake in six out of its seven courses.

Kirori Mal College (KMC), which has closed admissions to 14 out of its 21 courses, said it was expecting all its seats under the unreserved category to be filled before the fifth list was out.

“We have already filled close to 1,200 seats. We are estimating all the courses under the unreserved category to be filled before the fifth list is out,” said KMC admissions convenor Kalpana Bharara.

Taking a call

With the DU admission process nearing an end, aspirants are also busy taking the final call on their choice of colleges.

On Thursday, Daulat Ram College saw as many as 35 fresh applicants and a few cancellations.

Hindu College completed around 50 admissions, with around seven withdrawals. Sri Venkateswara College saw 80 fresh admissions, with 24 cancellations.

At Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College, there were 84 withdrawals as against 30 fresh admissions.

The document verification process under the fourth cut-off list will continue till July 15.

Students taking admission under this list can make online payment till noon on July 16 to confirm their seats.

The last and fifth cut-off list, if any, will be declared on July 18.
