Tarun Tejpal to face trial from Feb.

Former Tehelka Editor-in-Chief Tarun Tejpal will face trial in an alleged rape case involving his former colleague, in a local court here from February.

In-camera trial

Additional District and Sessions judge Vijaya Pol here on Tuesday ruled that the in-camera trial will commence on February 26 and hearings will continue for four consecutive days during which the victim will depose and will be cross-examined.

Was released on bail

In November 2013, Mr. Tejpal was accused of rape by a female colleague, in the elevator of a five-star resort in north Goa, where the Tehelka magazine was hosting its annual international event.

Following the registration of an FIR by the Goa Police, Mr. Tejpal was arrested and remanded in police and judicial custody for nearly a year. He was released on bail by the Supreme Court.
