Student killed on way to school

A 10-year-old boy was killed and his father gravely injured when they were hit by a truck while crossing the road violating traffic light on way to school in the central part of the city on Monday, the police said.

Mohammed Aziz, a student of Class I of St Stephen’s School, came under the wheels of the truck and was crushed to death and his father critically injured when they tried to cross the Central Avenue and Ganesh Chandra Avenue at around 7.35 a.m. on Monday violating traffic light, police said.

Aziz was rushed to Calcutta Medical College Hospital, where he declared brought dead. - PTI
