Special trains to clear Holi festival rush

To clear extra rush of passengers around Holi, Northern Railway has decided to run special trains between important destinations.

These include the Kamakhya–New Delhi-Kamakhya Weekly Superfast Express, Mumbai CST–Gorakhpur–Mumbai CST Premium Express, and the Bandra Terminus-Gorakhpur-Bandra Terminus Weekly Superfast Express.

The Kamakhya-New Delhi Weekly Superfast Holi Special (02503) would make four trips, officials said. “The Kamakhya-New Delhi Weekly Superfast Special will depart at 10 a.m. from Kamakhya on March 4 and 11 to reach New Delhi at 7.40 p.m. the next day. In the return direction, the New Delhi-Kamakhya Weekly Superfast Special (02504) will depart from New Delhi at 00.50 midnight on March 4 and 13 to reach Kamakhya at 12.30 p.m. the next day,” Northern Railway spokesperson Neeraj Sharma said.

The train will stop at New Bongaigaon, New Jalpaiguri, Katihar, Chhapra, Balia, Gazipur City, Varanasi, Lucknow and Moradabad in both directions.
