Special category students fare well

: More than 85 per cent of differently-abled students passed CBSE Class XII examination this year; and 129 of them scored more than 90 per cent marks.

While the national topper in this category is Vidhi Maheshwari from Chennai with a score of 490 marks, the top spot in Delhi is shared by three students — Khushbu Chatree from Sardar Patel Vidyalaya Lodi Estate, Nehmat Mongia from Modern School Barakhamba and Lakshya Dahiya from Sarvodaya Boys Senior Secondary School, Bankner. They scored 479 marks in the examination.

These students come under the category of Orthopaedically Impaired students. The pass percentage of differently-abled students from Delhi stood at 84.13 per cent with the highest number of students in the Orthopaedically Impaired category, followed by the Visually Impaired category.

The number of students under the special category scoring above 90 per cent in Delhi is 40, and the number of students scoring more than 95 per cent is four. This number is highest as compared to other CBSE regions.
