“As his baggage was passing through the X-ray screening machine, a bullet was detected in his hand baggage. When the bag was checked, a .38 bore cartridge was found in it,” a police official said.

When questioned about the bullet, Mr. Rana could not produce any valid documents for the ammunition. He also claimed that he did not know that the cartridge was in his bag.

Mr. Rana has a licenced gun but the licence is only valid in Uttar Pradesh.
