Six new dengue cases were reported in the city on Thursday, taking the number of people affected by the water borne disease to 41.

“Six fresh cases of dengue were reported in the city today. With this, the total number of people who tested positive for dengue till now is 41,” Dr N K Yadav, medical health officer, MCD said.

The MCD has roped in extra staff to carry out fogging in the Commonwealth Games village in order keep it free of mosquitos.

Dr Yadav said, “We also held a meeting with 33 sentinel surveillance hospitals and advised them to check mosquito breeding in their premises.
