The former Station House Officer of Vijay Vihar police station and five of his subordinates have been suspended following allegations that they kept six minors and an adult in illegal confinement for about four days suspecting their involvement in theft cases.

The suspects were detained by the local police a few days ago in connection with two cases of theft and burglary registered at the area police station. According to the police, the detentions were made as part of their efforts to recover the stolen articles.

However, it has been alleged that the seven were kept in confinement inside a DDA flat known as Lal Quarter in Vijay Vihar.

They were also allegedly chained to prevent their escape from the premises.
