Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Tuesday visited Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and met victims of the Delhi High Court bomb blast still admitted there.

The Chief Minister, who met 14 victims undergoing treatment in the Resuscitation Unit, Ortho Trauma Centre and ICU of the hospital, assured the patients and their attendants of all possible help and said her government would ensure the best treatment to them.

As many of the patients expressed apprehension about their future in view of the grievous injuries suffered by them, the Chief Minister told them that on their getting discharged from Lohia Hospital they would be provided further medical assistance at the nearest hospitals under the Delhi Government. She said suitable instructions have been issued in this respect.

Ms. Dikshit said a new cell has also been constituted under the Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) New Delhi District D.K. Mishra to look into all the issues concerned with a humane approach so that feasible solutions could be arrived at. She also directed him to “consider and decide every case sympathetically keeping in view the gravity of the incident''.

During her visit, most of the victims conveyed their satisfaction with the ongoing treatment at the hospital and appreciated the efforts of the doctors and the para-medical staff.
