Shantha Sinha re-appointed NCPCR Chairperson

Shantha Sinha has been appointed Chairperson of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) for the second consecutive term.

An order in this regard has been issued by the Women and Child Welfare Development Ministry, NCPCR sources said today.

A renowned child rights activist, Ms. Sinha was appointed Chairperson of the child rights panel in 2007.

Ms. Sinha, who is attached to the Central University Hyderabad, won the prestigious Magsaysay Award in 2003. She was awarded Padma Shree in 1999.
