SGAI to be conducted online: CBSE

December 03, 2014 08:39 am | Updated April 07, 2016 02:31 am IST - NEW DELH:

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that the fifth edition of its Global Aptitude Index (SGAI) will be conduced online from December 8 to 20. The schedules have been intimated to all regional board offices.

The option of taking these exams offline has been given to schools located in regions with no stable Internet connection. However, these exams too will have to be written on a computer.

The online (computer-based) assessment requires minimal technical preparations on the part of the schools. For a smooth rollout of the new and improvised online programme, the board has taken certain measures. Each school will be required to designate from the staff an SGAI coordinator to act as an interface on behalf of the students .The coordinator will invariably be the counsellor or a senior teacher.

During the entire period of SGAI assessment, e-mail support/online chat and telephonic support will be available to every SGAI school coordinator in order to assist the participants.

Registered schools should visit www.cbse.nic.in for more information.

The Board has made SGAI an optional programme with the intention to empower schools and students in their decision-making on subject choices for Class XI.

Further, the programme has been specifically designed based on the board’s understanding of the needs of the students and the schools.
