Seven persons, including five student, sustained injuries when a school van collided with a tempo in Rohini’s Shahbad Dairy on Friday.

Both drivers were injured and the tempo driver has been arrested for speeding, the police said.

Wrong side

The van, ferrying children from a private school in Rohini around 2 p.m., was crossing Sector 28 from the wrong side when it collided with the tempo.

“The speeding tempo hit the school van coming from the wrong side,” said a police officer.

The students, tempo driver Shamsher and van driver Bhupender were taken to a hospital. While the children are undergoing treatment, Bhupender was discharged after check-up. Shamsher was arrested on charges of rash driving, the police said.
