‘I tried a lot and like me many of my friends sat for hours just to see the result’
Many Delhi University students awaiting their results for the second and fourth semester examinations were forced to spend sleepless nights as for many hours after the results were declared they were unable to access them on the university link due to a server problem.
The University, which started putting the results for second and fourth semester out since last Friday (June 28), was unable to provide access to the students for a long time.
This immediately drew a strong response from the students who criticised Delhi University for its “poor and incompetent cyber infrastructure’’
“My result came online on Tuesday and I tried opening the link. But all it showed was ‘server busy’. I felt so frustrated that I could not sleep the entire night,” said Divisha Srivastava, a Political Science student at the University awaiting her second semester result.
“I finally got to know my result at around 4-30 a.m. . For this I literally had to beg my friends to try opening the link. It is so irresponsible on the University’s part, even now many have not been able to access their results.” she added.
Another student at the University, Tanya Sharma, too expressed her disgust. “I tried a lot and like me many of my friends sat for hours just to see the result, but with every passing minute we only got more disappointed."
The social media handles like Twitter and Facebook were also full of comments from outraged students who openly expressed their disgust and dislike at the failure of the system.
