Second constable held in Badaun gangrape case

Second of the two constables accused of gang-raping a 14-year-old girl inside a police station in Badaun was arrested here on Sunday, the police said. Veer Pal Yadav was apprehended from satellite bus station in the city, Superintendent of Police Rajiv Malhotra said. He said Veer Pal was here to surrender in the court on Monday

Earlier, on January 6, the other accused, constable Avnish Yadav was held by the Special Task Force and the local police when he was about to board a Delhi-bound train in Bareilly. He was later remanded to the judicial custody for 14 days. Both the constables were dismissed after they were accused of raping the girl after abducting her at the Musajhag Police Station on the New Year’s Eve.
