A young girl was raped allegedly by a Railway Protection Force constable and his accomplice in one of the waiting rooms of New Delhi railway station on Wednesday.
The victim and her elder sister, who earlier lived in Vishnu Garden, left their house and were at the railway station where they met RPF constable Pintu Kumar at night. He initiated a conversation with the sisters, during which the two revealed that they were looking for a rented accommodation.
On the pretext of helping them find a place, Pintu asked the two women to first deposit their luggage in the cloak room. The elder sister then went towards Paharganj to look for an affordable hotel-room for night stay. When she returned and asked the younger sister to bring back their luggage, Pintu allegedly accompanied her and instead of the cloak room, he took her to a room inside the railway station building where he and his friend Haman Pratap Singh allegedly raped her.
The victim narrated the incident to her elder sister, following which they lodged a complaint with the railway police. Subsequently a case was registered and the two accused arrested. Investigations revealed that Pintu was posted at Chittaranjan in West Bengal.
