September 14, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:33 am IST - NEW DELHI:

In a bid to tap grey water during water scarcity, the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has come up with a plan to water all the parks in Vasant Kunj area from a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP).

For this, Municipal Councillor Kusum Khatri, of Kishangarh area has already requested for the allotment of land from the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) for creation of pumping station and sump well in the area.

“In July, a plot of 300 square meters was allotted and handed over to the SDMC. In order to use the natural resources in optimum manner we are developing a system comprising a sump well and pump house for laying the rising mains form the existing STP to the Park of Vasant Kunj and water bodies i.e. Kishangarh and B-1 Block Water bodies,” Ms. Khatri said.
