Rebel MLA Vinod Kumar Binny on Sunday call on anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare to discuss his concerns over the functioning of the Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi. Sources said Mr. Binny had asked Mr. Hazare to join him in a fast against the AAP.
“I apprised Annaji of recent developments in Delhi, and he assured me that he will look into the matter. Anna asked me to have patience. He said he will gather some information himself,” Mr. Binny told reporters at Ralegan Siddhi after the meeting.
Though he wanted Mr. Hazare to speak to AAP leader and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal about his complaints, the veteran activist did not commit himself to anything. “He [Anna Hazare] told me that he was happy to see that I was not being greedy for any post.”
Earlier last week, the MLA accused Mr. Kejriwal of being a “dictator” in the party and said it was not fulfilling promises made to voters.
Referring to the show-cause the party had served on him, Mr. Binny said: “They [members of the AAP political affairs committee] have invoked section 6(A), claiming that my behaviour has been immoral and illegal. I haven’t used abusive language and I don’t know what they have termed illegal. If raising the issues of the people is illegal, then they have also done the same thing. They raised the same issues which I had raised,” he said.
