A man accused of rape allegedly threw acid on the victim’s private parts while she was returning from the court after a hearing in the case. A fresh case has been registered in this connection.
The 28-year-old woman, who was allegedly raped by Shailendra Mishra eight months ago, was returning home after a hearing in the local court in the case on November 22 when the accused allegedly called her to a temple on the pretext of seeking apology and threw acid on her private parts.
The case was registered on Wednesday after the matter was reported to the police.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Sumit Kuhar said that medical examination of the victim was conducted and the report was still awaited. “The claims made by the victim can be verified only after the medical report is received,” said Mr. Kuhar.
Called her to a temple
According to the woman, the accused called her to come to a temple in Dundahera around 5 p.m. and poured acid on her in the presence of her uncle. She claimed that her calls to the Police Control Room also went unanswered.
The woman, a tailor, stays with her son on rent in Udyog Vihar. She was allegedly raped by Shailendra in March this year. Based on her complaint, the accused was then arrested. He is currently out on bail.
