Ramjas students told to give proof

March 07, 2017 01:08 am | Updated 01:08 am IST - New Delhi

An inquiry committee set up by Ramjas College to probe the violence inside and outside the campus has asked students and teachers to come forward voluntarily and submit any evidence that will help in the investigation.

“The probe panel will submit its report in a time-bound manner. All those voluntarily willing to depose as witness or produce evidence in any form should submit it to the probe panel,” said acting principal P.C. Tulsian.

Violence on campus

The violence on campus, that led to a stir at Delhi University, took place after the ABVP-led Students’ Union protested against an invite to JNU Ph.D scholar Umar Khalid to speak at a seminar titled “Cultures of Protest”.

Ramjas College had last week ordered an inquiry into the incident after a staff meeting, in which the college decided to “stand by” its students and teachers who had planned the event.
