: This Sunday, the National Capital would be having another double decker train connecting it to one more destination after Jaipur. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh would flag off a double-decker that would ply from Delhi to Lucknow on Sunday.

The train, which would initially operate bi-weekly (Friday and Sunday) between Gomti Nagar Station in Lucknow to Anand Vihar Terminal here, has been awaiting clearance for the past few months.

Lucknow is also the Lok Sabha constituency of the Home Minister. The train would take around eight hours to complete its journey and would halt at only three stations — Ghaziabad, Muradabad and Bareilly.

“On Sunday, the train would go on an inaugural run. From Friday, regular service of the train would begin,” Northern Railway General Manager A.K. Puthia told The Hindu .
