A blanket of fog coupled with rains made Tuesday morning very difficult for Delhiites though the minimum temperature rose slightly.

Light showers that began at around 9 a.m. took the residents of the capital by surprise as they stepped out of their homes to go to their work places.

Though the minimum temperature was recorded at 7.4 degrees Celsius as against yesterday’s 6.1 degree Celsius, there was no respite from cold.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 21 degree Celsius.

Though there was fog, flight operations at the IGI Airport were today normal with no diversions or cancellations.

Delhi airport has been witnessing dense fog since Christmas day.

Last night, dense fog enveloped the new runway of the airport, while there was shallow fog on the main and second runways. This led to implementation of low visibility procedures (LVP) at the new runway around 10 PM and flights operated using CAT III instrument landing system while on the other CAT I was used.
