Due to an active western disturbance, dust storms and thunderstorms are likely to hit the city on Wednesday.
The MeT department said that “thundery development/dust storm is likely to occur at few places over NCR and one or two spells of rain/thunderstorm may occur across NCR between March 9 and March 10.
The weather is likely to clear up by Holi, which falls on March 13.
Temperatures recorded this February were unusually high with the maximum temperatures being among the hottest in a decade.
The western disturbance is also likely to cause a drop in temperatures.
On Tuesday, the maximum temperature was 30.7 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal. The minimum temperature was recorded at 12 degrees Celcius, two notches below normal.
The maximum and minimum temperatures on Wednesday are likely to hover between 28 and 15 degrees Celcius, with storms building towards the evening.
